Olivia Dean in Ticket Access Battle: From Billboard Hot 100 to Fighting Retailers

Success this fall came to Englishwoman Olivia Dean, whose achievements include a top 4 Billboard Hot 100, a Grammy nomination, performances on Saturday Night Live, selling all tickets to concerts at The O2 Arena and Madison Square Garden, and joining a number of artists who have publicly accused Ticketmaster, Live Nation and AEG of unfair ticket resale practices. Olivia Dean called the policy "disgusting" and reseller prices "vile," stressing that live music should be available.

In response, Ticketmaster was banned from reselling tickets to its concerts at inflated prices and denied that a screenshot of the $753 price tag was a "typo." They said they supported the right of artists to set the conditions for selling their tickets. Radiohead and Hayley Williams were among the few artists whose tickets were also resold at inflated prices. At the same time, the British government deliberately initiated the development of a law prohibiting the resale of tickets at inflated prices.
