Tchaikovsky. Von Mecca. Pa-de-de-de": Premiere of the play, immersing in the world of genius

On December 8, 2025, the premiere of the Tchaikovsky performance-concert will take place at the Zaryadye MKZ. Von Mecca. Pa-de-de-de, developed according to the concept of Ilze Liepa. In this unusual format, the audience is waiting for a journey into the life and work of the great Russian composer, uniting theater, multimedia, symphonic music and ballet.

The production is based on archival documents - letters, diaries, memoirs - allowing you to look into Tchaikovsky's doubts and hopes, his complex work with choreographers, and the search for the ideal sound that made Russian ballet world-wide. Through the prism of the composer’s personality, the history of the creation of the legendary “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Nutcracker” is revealed.

The focus is on the period of Tchaikovsky’s life from 1877 to 1893, in particular, his acquaintance with Nadezhda Filaretovna von Meck, a key figure in his life, philanthropist and friend. The performance is a living story, presented with the help of monologists Ilze Liepa and a ballerina, using the music of the State Kremlin Orchestra led by Konstantin Chudovsky and fragments from ballets from the best Russian theaters.

Special attention is paid to modern choreographic productions created by the winners of the Young Choreographers’ Competition within the framework of the project “Russian Ballet Forever”, which will be presented on the stage “Zaryadya” with original video scenery and multimedia content. The performance promises to be a fascinating introduction to the world of Tchaikovsky, encouraging viewers to further study his work and life.
