Pulp cover John Cash for 'The Hack'

Last week, Rough Trade, along with the band Pulp, announced the release of a 7-inch single, "The Man Comes Around." It includes a cover of John Cash's latest song and demos of two tracks from Pulp's album More, released 24 years ago. This release is a traditional Rough Trade format for the presentation of the best albums of the year. And since Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker did not miss the opportunity to draw a parallel with Johnny Cash (remembering his initials with Jesus), he stated: “The Man Comes Around” is a cover of another JC: John Cash. Interestingly, Pulp recorded this song for a reason - for the series "The Hack", which tells about the high-profile scandal with illegal wiretapping by the tabloid News of the World. The series starred famous actors: David Tennant, Toby Jones, Robert Carlisle and Rose Leslie, and all episodes are already available for viewing.
