Björk surprises: new ways of announcements and art projects for the anniversary

Legendary art-pop icon, Björk, celebrating her 60th birthday, continues to amaze fans with her unconventional approach to announcing new projects. Information about the album “Fossora” first appeared in an interview with The Guardian, and about the imminent release of its sequel – in the Instagram account of the National Gallery of Iceland. As part of the Reykjavík Arts Festival in May 2026, three “immersive installations” called “Echolalia” will premiere, one of which will include music from Björk’s 11th album in the works. The festival describes these installations as an opportunity “to get acquainted with the next chapter of the search for the artist, which is based on transformation and collaboration” (translated from the language of Björk – her working Tuesday). Recently, Björk has also supported her ward Rosalia’s new musical career with her live album Cornucopia Live, and continues to showcase her creativity and innovative approach to art.
