"Revival69": A stunning concert that changed rock music

On December 13, 2025, Channel One will premiere the documentary Revival69: The Concert That Rocked the World, directed by Ron Chapman and scripted by Phyllis Ellis. The film tells about an incredible event that took place in 1969 in Toronto – a spontaneous concert of John Lennon and Eric Clapton, which became the spark for the legendary festival.

The synopsis of the film says that in the midst of the festival crisis, when tickets were not sold, the stars refused to participate, and the organizers were on the verge of bankruptcy, Lennon, being in a creative impasse, assembled a group of Plastic Ono Band in 48 hours and, once in Toronto, gave a concert that forever changed the history of rock music.

The film shows the behind-the-scenes of this event through a edited chronicle and interviews with key contributors including Alice Cooper, Geddy Lee, Daniel Rickter, Rodney Bingenheimer, Robbie Krieger and many others. The film is not just a recording of a concert, but documentary evidence of the moment when one musical era ended and a completely new one began - when the Beatles broke up and a new wave of rock music arose.

Before the release in wide distribution, the film was shown at the film festival in Calgary in 2022, and in June 2023 it was released in the Russian box office. The air is scheduled for 23:45.
