SoundCloud Hacked: 28 Million Accounts Hacked

The SoundCloud platform has faced serious problems after a hacker attack that for several days made the service inaccessible. The reason was the penetration into the system by attackers, who probably gained access to some of the personal data of users. According to preliminary estimates, this affected about 28 million accounts – 20% of the total user base of SoundCloud. The company says the hackers did not gain access to confidential information, such as payment data and passwords, as well as information that is not publicly available in user profiles. However, after neutralizing the threat, the company faced DDoS attacks, which led to the unstable operation of the service. Moreover, experts suggest that the hacker group ShinyHunters could steal a significant amount of data, including possibly sensitive information, and use it to blackmail SoundCloud. As a result, VPN access has been temporarily blocked, and the company is now working to restore it.
