MusicAeterna finishes the year with Prokofiev’s Cinderella: Night concerts with Currentzis

MusicAeterna Orchestra under the direction of Theodor Currentzis returns to one of its most beloved programs – “Cinderella” by Sergey Prokofiev. This work will be the final this year and will be a kind of date for returning to history, because the team first presented it in 2006 at the Novosibirsk Opera, where Currentzis himself was the conductor. Later, at the Perm Opera, with the participation of Alexei Miroshnichenko, Cinderella was also performed. For both performances, Currentzis was awarded the Golden Mask Award for the direction of the ballet, noting the brightness of the interpretation of Prokofiev’s score.

The concert will take place on December 26 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and due to the huge demand, musicAeterna will add a second performance on December 25 in the Concert Hall. Tchaikovsky. As part of the "night concerts" with Currentzis, starting at 23:00, the orchestra will quote this "dreary" story of joy and sadness, as the conductor himself calls Prokofiev's music, especially in the scene of the wedding finale. After the Moscow series, musicAeterna will perform Cinderella in St. Petersburg on December 29.
