Vivaldi "Seasons of the Year" performed by Spivakov and "Moscow Virtuosi" - a new edition with bonus material

Melody presents the long-awaited edition of the vinyl album “Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi, recorded by violinist Vladimir Spivakov and his chamber orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi” for the upcoming Christmas holidays. For Spivakov, “The Seasons” is a landmark work, and it would seem impossible to create a fresh interpretation of such a often performed cycle. However, The Virtuosos of Moscow managed to bring these classic plays to life, conveying the feeling of a luxurious palace ball, combining gallantry and dance with energy and emotional depth. The chamber orchestra demonstrates impeccable ensemble sound and crystal clarity of performance.

As a bonus to the album, a CD was released with the recording of a concert on December 15, 1986 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, including the “Seasons” and the festive cantata “Gloria” performed by the Basque choir Orfeón Donostiarra with the participation of outstanding singers Makvala Kasrashvili and Tamara Sinyavskaya. These parties in the Baroque cantata are distinguished by lightness, dignity and an exquisite sense of proportion.
