Perry Bamonte, a key member of The Cure, has died.

On December 24, Perry Bamonte, a musician whose name was closely associated with The Cure, died. He was 65 years old. Bamonte, a guitarist and keyboardist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, began his career as a technical guitarist and assistant to Robert Smith. In 1990, he officially became a member of the band, having worked with The Cure for more than 14 years, recording five albums (including "Wish" and "The Cure") and performing with the band in numerous concerts. Despite leaving in the mid-2000s, his friendship with Robert Smith continued unabated, and in 2022 Bamonte returned to The Cure, giving him the opportunity to play about a hundred more shows, including the broadcast of The Show of a Lost World in London.
