This triumph is the first in the history of the Billboard 200, where the album chart has existed for 43 years. The previous record was held by David Bowie, whose "Blackstar" topped the chart 43 years and 10 months after "Hunky Dory" debuted. The success of Megadeth (recording 73,000 album equivalents) is mainly due to strong demand for physical copies (56,000) and digital downloads (13,000).
