Queen drops Glastonbury over controversy with Festival founder

Queen once again refused to headline the Glastonbury festival despite repeated offers. The reason was the fundamental disagreement of guitarist Brian May with the policy of the founder of the festival, Michael Eavis, regarding the controlled shooting of badgers in the UK. May, who co-founded the Save Me Trust, an anti-fox and badger hunting organization, stressed that supporting Eavis, who sees the shooting as a way to fight bovine tuberculosis, was against his moral principles. The standoff between the musician and Glastonbury organiser, which began back in 2019 and included harsh criticism of Eavis in 2023, has been exacerbated by Eavis' long-standing hostility towards May. In this regard, Queen, despite rumors, continue to refuse to participate in the festival, scheduled for 2027, and will probably take a break in 2026 to restore the fields after mass events.
