American Music Awards 2024: Overview of the ceremony and winners

Yesterday, Las Vegas hosted the 52nd American Music Awards, which, despite a scant news day (probably sparked by an American holiday), still managed to grab attention. The ceremony evoked mixed feelings, especially due to the nomination "Best Throwback Song", where she defeated The Black Eyed Peas, ahead of 4 Non Blondes and Goo Goo Dolls. Taylor Swift, who led the nominations (eight), did not take part in the ceremony, as she did not receive any awards. Instead, the crown of “Best Pop Artist” and “Best Pop Album” was awarded to Sabrina Carpenter with her album “Man’s Best Friend”, and Olivia Dean, with seven nominations, failed to achieve success. “Three” turned out to be the key number – Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Huntr/x (from “Capop Demon Hunters”), BTS and, of course, BTS (winners in the categories “Best Capop Artist”, “Song of Summer” and “Artist of the Year”) received awards. The show included surprise performances such as a mashup of hits by The Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes, songs by Hootie & the Blowfish, special appearances by Karoll G and Billy Idol (received awards for international contribution and longevity), and ended with the presentation of a full list of winners.
