Tom Morello releases protest song "Adjourn It" featuring Serj Tankian and son

Tom Morello, acclaimed guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, and an active fighter for justice, presented the single "Adjourn It" as an announcement of his future solo project. The recording of the song was a joint project of Morello and his 15-year-old son Roman, as well as System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian. The song, unexpectedly for many, is a protest against injustice, and its video uses footage from the classic 1954 film "Salt of the Earth", which tells about the harsh working conditions and racism of American miners. Morello continues to draw parallels between history and modernity, pointing to the barbarity of immigration policing and the rising tide of fascism. “This is a call for justice in an age of lawlessness,” he said. In light of the persecution of immigrants and the heroic resistance to fascism, we have decided to express our support for freedom, equality and justice.

In parallel with the release of the single, Tom organizes the Power to the People festival, which will be held on October 3 in the suburbs of Washington. Festival attendees include Bruce Springsteen, Jan Baez, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike and Serge Tankian.
