Belle and Sebastian pay tribute to Scottish national team success with new single

Belle and Sebastian, once recognized as the best Scottish band, have released the single “It Only Takes One Lion” – inspired by the triumphs of the Scottish football team and preparations for the World Cup, in which they once again entered the international arena for the first time since the last century. The song was part of the Belle and Sebastian tour, marking the 30th anniversary of the legendary albums "Tigermilk" and "If You're Feeling Sinister", making its live debut. Soloist Stuart Murdoch describes it as "a personal song about supporting Scotland for the past 50 years." After the victory over Denmark (which ensured the team’s entry to the World Cup), the song, according to Murduk, appeared “naturally”. Belle and Sebastian are continuing to tour for records released at the height of Euro 1996 (where the Scots were unable to leave the group), and are now in North America to mark the 23rd FIFA World Cup. Their debut match against Haiti is scheduled for June 13, the same day the group will perform in Seattle.
