Interpol announces new album This Mirror Weighs a Ton

Interpol will release its eighth studio album, This Mirror Weighs a Ton, on August 28. The album, consisting of twelve new tracks, led by the single "See Out Loud", returning the sound of the band, and a powerful title track, is characterized by the absence of weaknesses in the opinion of frontman Paul Banks. Banks, who moved to Berlin after giving birth to two children and won Academy Awards and Grammys, worked on the album with Andrew Wyatt (of Charli XCX, Rosalía and Miike Snow), as well as keyboardist Brandon Curtis (The Secret Machines) and bassist Brad Truax. The addition of the band made Interpol a quintet, which Banks believes is reasonable given the similarity of the title track to Massive Attack. On the eve of the release of the album, the band is actively touring, planning two tours: European (in a double concert with Bloc Party) and North American.
