"Orpheus" celebrates the anniversary: a grand concert in honor of Kutuzov

At the Russian Song Theatre on June 24, 2026, the Academic Choir of the Russian Song of the Orpheus Teleradiocentre will present the program “I Love You, My Russia!” This special event is the 100th anniversary of the legendary artistic director of the choir, People's Artist of the USSR Nikolai Kutuzov (1926-2011), who for almost sixty years formed a unique style and repertoire of the collective.

Orpheus, founded in 1945, has produced hundreds of programs, performed at the most famous concert venues and radio and television studios, recording about 4000 works. Among the outstanding masters who grew up under the leadership of Kutuzov is the folk singer Lyudmila Zykina.

The concert program will feature works by Nikolai Kutuzov, his author’s treatments of folk songs, as well as world-famous compositions such as “Yermak”, “Glorious Sea, Sacred Baikal” and others. Special attention of the audience will be attracted by the vocal and choreographic numbers “The Month Lights” and “Lady” – business cards of the choir.

The conductor’s desk is headed by Nikolai Azarov in co-authorship with Andrei Azovsky, and the special guest will be Kutuzov’s daughter, Honored Artist of Russia Elena Kutuzova, who will also conduct some of the concert numbers.
