“The Adventures of Captain Wrungel” in a new interpretation: a vinyl record from the company “Melody”

Melody presented a limited series of vinyl musical fairy tale "The Adventures of Captain Wrungel", recorded in 1985 and released on double disc by the new plant of the company. This audio performance, based on the cult cartoon by David Cherkassky (1976-1979), differs from the original due to the author's arrangements, added songs by Firtich and Chepovetsky, saturated with buffoonade. In the production, the main role of Captain Wrungel is voiced by Zinovy Gerdt, and Loma was performed by Eugene Paperny. Accompanyed them ensemble of the Kiev theater of pop under the leadership of Alexander Shapovalov. Original analog films were used to create this unique record, and Maxim Pilipov became the sound engineer of restoration and remastering. The abstract was written by Eduard Uspensky. The tale of Captain Wrungel and his crew’s round-the-world journey, full of adventure, humor and wit, is designed for listeners of all ages. The album was released in 2026.
