Lorde releases X-rays of her creative work on Virgin album

Lorde celebrated the first anniversary of the release of her latest album, Virgin, giving fans access to fifty demos created during its development. These files, organized into a messy archive, are available free of charge on the singer's website, in a section called "X-rays." The idea of public disclosure of the drafts arose from the radical honesty that became a key element of the album "Virgin". Lorde explained that she had originally planned to release the album as a standalone official version, but felt that the sloppy archive of demo recordings would be more truthful and interesting. “Virgin”, released on June 27, 2025, was met with admiration by the public and critics: it was ranked second on Billboard, first in several countries and received high marks from publications such as Rolling Stone and NME.
