Dua Lipa broadens horizons: library and literary club

Singer Dua Lipa continues to amaze the audience, combining a musical career with active activity in the world of literature. The Manifesto Library in Portugal, located in the famous Livraria Lello store in Porto, will soon open. The library will be dedicated to books critical of power and ideology, including topics of race and sexuality.

In addition to this, Dua Lipa runs a successful virtual book club, Service95, which she launched in 2021. The club includes a newsletter, podcast and invites to discuss the books of celebrities – from Elton John to Chanya Yanagihara – including Nobel and Booker award winners. The Lipa library also contains works by Margaret Atwood, Olga Tokarczuk and Salman Rushdie. Lipa aims to create a reading space that not only brings people together, but also provides an opportunity to touch on sensitive social topics that are often censored. She also curates the London Festival of Literature in late October, continuing her support for book activism.
