Jack White defends 'satanic doo-wop': unexpected Twin Temple support

After the refusal of country singer Charlie Crockett from performing with the rock duo Twin Temple, whose music is built around a satanic image and a “satanic doo-wop”, Jack White stood up for the group. Crockett expressed displeasure that the band "flirted with inverted crosses."

White invited Twin Temple to act as a warm-up band at his Los Angeles concert in late September and even called it "Get Out, Satan!", based on the title of one of The White Stripes' albums. Twin Temple expressed great gratitude to White, describing the upcoming collaboration as a "truly infernal pleasure."

In explaining his decision, White stressed that he was not intimidated by Satan or any other image of fear. He declared the need to find his way to faith and divine communion, rather than following established patterns aimed at manipulating and exploiting people. White recently released a new solo album, Frozen Charlotte.
