New recordings by Davy Jones: Disclosure of Bowie's Early Muse

The Shel Talmy Recordings is a collection of unique recordings created in 1965 by a young musician named Davy Jones (later David Bowie). At the time, he was performing under his passport name and recording with legendary producer Shel Talmi, a man who captured his success through his work with bands such as The Who and The Kinks. Even future Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page took part in the sessions! "The Shel Talmy Recordings" is an opportunity to hear Davy Jones during his fascination with classical beat music, a far cry from the melodic hits "Space Oddity" or "The Man Who Sold the World" and Bowie's subsequent experiments. The collection includes recordings of early projects Davie Jones & The Lower Third and The Manish Boys, most of which have never been released before. The release will take place on September 18.
