William Orbit: Farewell to the legendary electronics engineer

William Orbit, a prominent electronic musician and influential producer, tragically passed away at the age of 69. The actor died at his home in London on July 23, and the official announcement of his death took place only two weeks later – on August 7. Orbit left an indelible mark on the music world, being both a respected pioneer of the British house and chillout scene, and a key figure in the show business of the 90s, collaborating with such stars as Madonna (including the work on Ray Of Light, which earned him three Grammy Awards), U2, Blur, All Saints and Robie Williams. In recent years, Orbit has continued to release his own albums, actively participated in interviews and maintained social networks, where he even talked about trying to write a sequel to “Ray Of Light” for Madonna – without a response.
