Mötley Crüe’s Kickstart My Heart reaches one billion Spotify streams

Mötley Crüe announced on October 1 that Kickstart My Heart had reached one billion Spotify streams. The band thanked listeners in a dedicated post on its official website. The milestone measures accumulated plays of one song on that platform, rather than sales of a new album.

The track originally appeared on Dr. Feelgood in 1989. Blabbermouth reports that the achievement accompanies updated RIAA certifications: double platinum for the song and nine-times platinum for the album. US-market certifications and Spotify play counts are distinct measures and should not be combined.

The band also marks its forty-fifth anniversary in 2026. Its website announced an anniversary Too Fast For Love box set, revisiting the 1981 debut. Below is the official video for Kickstart My Heart itself. The 2012 concert photograph is clearly archival, and the source links lead to the original announcements.
