Olivia Rodrigo announces Expectations with Chappell Roan for October 15

Olivia Rodrigo has announced a new version of Expectations featuring Chappell Roan. Interscope schedules the release for October 15 at 5 p.m. Pacific time. The October 13 announcement is backed by an official preorder page naming both artists. It is presented as Rodrigo’s first remix and Roan’s first featured appearance of this kind.

Daniel Nigro, who works with both singers, produced the recording. A music video starring Rodrigo and Roan, directed by Bardia Zeinali, is scheduled to premiere alongside the track. Expectations originally appeared on Rodrigo’s third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love; the collaboration is a separate single.

Limited editions on seven-inch vinyl, CD and cassette accompany the digital release. The official CD lists the Roan version and the original Expectations. The complete new recording is not yet public, so the article links directly to its preorder rather than presenting the original song as the forthcoming duet.
