The Chainsmokers release Baby, their first independent single

The Chainsmokers released Baby on October 16, 2026. It is Alex Pall and Drew Taggart’s first independent single after leaving Disruptor and Columbia. The duo announced the end of their eleven-year relationship with the labels this week. Their official Bandcamp page and Apple Music’s catalogue both confirm the new recording’s release date.

Release credits identify Secondhand Happiness, Inc. as the recording’s copyright holder. An official lyric video accompanies the song on The Chainsmokers’ channel, running three minutes and 49 seconds. It links to the matching Baby smartlink connecting music platforms, while the dedicated Bandcamp page offers the recording directly from the artist.

Earlier this year the duo released Love Is Kind with Oaks. That five-song EP arrived May 8 and includes Echo, Already Know, Five Past Three and Wild. Baby begins their next phase after that collaborative project, with the new standalone track now arriving as an independent release.
