The Strokes have joined the NOS Alive 2027 programme. The organiser confirmed on October 19 that the American band will perform on the NOS Stage on Thursday, July 8. The festival runs July 8–10 at Passeio Marítimo de Algés near Lisbon, marking its nineteenth edition.

The Neighbourhood and Beirut are also confirmed for the opening day. The announcement therefore adds to the programme already taking shape rather than presenting a complete festival lineup. Portuguese outlet NiT notes that The Strokes previously played NOS Alive in 2022.

Formed in New York in 1998, the band released its debut Is This It in 2001. The organiser also recalls The New Abnormal, their 2020 album which earned a Grammy for Best Rock Album. A starting time for the July performance has not been specified in the announcement.
