Hot Chip announce A Long Way From Kansas and share Random Violence

Hot Chip released Random Violence on October 19 and announced their ninth album, A Long Way From Kansas. Domino will issue it on January 8, 2027. Its eleven songs include Me In Your Head with Beth Ditto and The Garden with Eddie Chacon.

The single remembers Keith McIvor, better known as Optimo's JD Twitch. Joe Goddard says its words draw on their friendship and encounters at Glasgow's Sub Club. Jack Cole directed the official video, which features the Boss Morris dance group.

A UK and European tour was announced alongside the album, running from Berlin on February 26 to London's Exhibition White City on March 12. General sales begin October 23. The record was made at Goddard and Al Doyle's East London studio, Relax and Enjoy.
