RAYE has won the 2026 Mercury Prize with her second album, This Music May Contain Hope. The result was announced on October 22 at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, where Lauren Laverne hosted the ceremony. Sian Eleri presented the trophy on behalf of the judging panel.

The singer performed I Hate The Way I Look Today during the event. Her winning record came out on March 27 and contains 17 tracks, bringing together jazz, soul, R&B and orchestral elements. The award recognises the complete album rather than an individual single.

This is RAYE’s first Mercury victory, following a shortlist appearance in 2023. She succeeds 2025 winner Sam Fender. The album is available through the artist’s official release link and the accompanying Spotify player.
