Kirk Franklin released I Am What I Am on October 30, 2026, bringing out the first double album of his career. The collection contains fourteen tracks, divided equally between seven studio recordings and seven live performances. iHeartRadio reported the release, while Franklin’s own website now identifies the complete album as available.

The studio section includes collaborations with Jelly Roll, GloRilla, Davido and Tobe Nwigwe. Free Me Tonight features Jelly Roll, while Hope In You brings in Davido. Karen Clark Sheard and Tim Rogers appear in the live programme. The digital track list explicitly marks the live versions, distinguishing them from the studio material.

The twenty-time Grammy winner describes this as his fourteenth solo full-length release. The catalogue credits Fo Yo Soul Recordings and TRIBL Music Group under an exclusive licence to Uptown Records.
