Violinist Itzhak Perlman released The Way We Were: My American Songbook on October 30, 2026. The Green Hill album contains twelve selections. His official website describes it as his first new album in more than a decade and his first recording devoted to this kind of songbook programme.

The sequence includes All the Things You Are, the title song The Way We Were, Send In the Clowns and What’ll I Do. Jon Batiste joins Summertime, while Josh Groban appears on Some Enchanted Evening. Perlman performs the familiar songs with orchestral accompaniment rather than presenting a new cycle of classical concertos.

David Lai produced the project, with Or Matias and Natalie Tenenbaum contributing production and arrangements. The catalogue credits Perlman under an exclusive licence to Green Hill Productions. His official music links identify the same twelve-track digital edition, and the complete album is available through the Spotify player below.
