Gerard Way has outlined My Chemical Romance’s intention to make a new record in 2027. He discussed the plan at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 30, with NME and Consequence reporting his remarks the following day. His announcement concerned a recording project rather than a completed album with a confirmed release date.

Way suggested the band would probably avoid shows during 2027 and expressed hope of seeing audiences again in 2028. Those remarks do not amount to a published tour itinerary. The reports of his onstage comments provide no album title, track list or scheduled release day.

The band’s most recent studio album remains 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys. They split in 2013, reunited in 2019 and released The Foundations Of Decay in 2022. The proposed recording project is separate from the anniversary reissue of The Black Parade already released this autumn.
