Joe Satriani and Steve Vai release The Sea Of Emotion together

Joe Satriani and Steve Vai released The Sea Of Emotion as SatchVai on November 6, 2026, through earMUSIC. It is their first joint studio album despite their long history of performing together. The official programme contains ten tracks, opening with Mayhem and ending with the third part of the title work.

Their friendship began in 1973 when the teenage Vai took guitar lessons from Satriani. They later shared G3 stages and toured together. This release brings that collaboration into a full studio record rather than another document of a concert.

The album includes Dancing, I Wanna Play My Guitar and three parts of The Sea Of Emotion. The last joins Reflections On A Year And A Half. An official album player and Mayhem video accompany the article. The archival photograph shows the pair with John Petrucci at G3 in Melbourne in December 2006.
