“7 thousand above the Earth”: Secrets and legends of the hit Valery Syutkin

"Muz-TV" may 17, 2025 will present a new series "Hit Story", dedicated to the legendary hit Valery Syutkin "7 thousand above the Earth" in 1995. Journalists of the program will reveal the history of the song, its rejection by taxi drivers and the mystery of the spoiled footage of the clip.

The story began in 1993, when Valery Syutkin, while still a member of the Bravo group, began work on a solo album thanks to the initiative of guitarist Igor Balashov. After leaving Bravo in 1995, he revealed that he had no plans to leave the team, but his strained relationship with the head of the club, Yevgeny Khavtan, was the reason for the change.

The inspiration for the song came unexpectedly: an accordion melody appeared in Syutkin’s head back in 1994, imagining a flight like Jean-Paul Belmondo’s. Valery Syutkin explains why the song is dedicated to the height of 7 thousand above the ground, and why “eleven” and “ten thousand” are not successful.

After recording, Syutkin went on vacation to the Seychelles. Returning home, he was met by the dislike of a taxi driver who heard the song on the radio. The clip was created on the basis of amateur shooting from the rehearsal, since initially it was planned only to capture yourself with a new team. The Heath Story program is scheduled to air at 15:30.
