Yungblud Reveals Theme of Pain and Acceptance in New Single “Zombie”

The new single "Zombie" from the British musician Yungblud, released on May 30, 2025, was a turning point in his work. The song, originally inspired by his grandmother’s experiences of a serious trauma and rethinking her life, touches on the universal theme of pain, fear and trying to cope with the feeling of ugliness and dissimilarity.

In the clip, Yungblud addresses the nurses, personifying their selfless care and ability to comfort, and the process of creativity was reinforced by the participation of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and director Charlie Sarsfield. In the finale of the clip, the heroine gains white wings, symbolizing hope and the opportunity to overcome fear.

The single is the final installment of the new album, Idols, which will be released on June 20, and is a continuation of the successful singles "Hello Heaven, Hello" and "Lovesick Lullaby". In support of the album, Yungblud is planning a series of chamber concerts "Idols - Up Close And Personal", as well as a large-scale tour "Idols" in North America and Europe.
