'Psycho Killer' back in the spotlight: Talking Heads anniversary and new horizons

Fifty years ago, on June 5, 1975, the Talking Heads first took to the stage of the legendary CBGB, serving as the opening act for the Ramones. On this day, they performed their future classic – “Psycho Killer”, which later became a single accompanying their debut album.

Today, half a century later, "Psycho Killer" received a new video shot by Oscar-winning Mike Mills ("Beginners", "Women of the XX century"), and the main role in it was played by Saoirse Ronan ("Atonement", "Lady Bird") - another longtime fan of Talking Heads. The plot of the film "Women of the XX century", including a scene dedicated to the group (and partly inspired by Lucas Jade Zumann in the jersey with the cover of "Talking Heads: 77"), as well as the scene of Saoirse's wedding to the song "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)", only strengthened the bond between Talking Heads and their fans.

The band itself noted that the "Psycho Killer" video "makes the song better" - in that it is not literal, bloody or violent, but only adds to the atmosphere. A recent June 5 teaser sparked a wave of discussions about a possible concert or even a reunion tour for the band that disbanded in 1991.
