Talking Heads release 'Psycho Killer' with new video for band's 50th anniversary

Talking Heads premiered the music video for their iconic song "Psycho Killer" on June 5, 2025. Despite the fact that the composition was written 48 years ago, it did not have a visual embodiment. The clip's premiere coincides with the 50th anniversary of the band's first performance in 1975, when they were the opening act for the Ramones in New York.

Director Mike Mills (Beginners, Kamon Kamon) shot a video featuring actress Saoirse Ronan. In the video, a woman suffering from the monotony of everyday life experiences sharp mood swings - from indifference and calm to rage. She throws tantrums at work, dances, lies without sleep and experiences existential fear, without attracting the attention of others. In four minutes, she goes from burning out and hating the world to finding humility and love for life.

Talking Heads notes that this video amplifies the song, emphasizing that it is not literal or violent, but rather symbolic and metaphorical.
