Billy Corgan reunites "pumpkins" with Melissa Auf der Maur in an unexpected reunion

Billy Corgan, known for his unpredictability, decided to celebrate the jubilee dates of The Smashing Pumpkins' iconic albums - 30 years of "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" and 25 years of "Machina" - in an unexpected way: with a new band under his name, "Billy Corgan and the Machines of God." As part of the club tour of North America, the band visited Montreal, where there was a pleasant surprise for fans – a reunion with Melissa Auf der Maur, a former member of The Smashing Pumpkins. Before performing with The Everlasting Gaze, Corgan invited Melissa onstage, nearly two decades after her appearance on the Machina tour.

The concert, which lasted two hours, included songs from "Mellon Collie...", both Machines albums, and The Smashing Pumpkins' latest album, "Aghori Ghori Mei." The program also includes covers of Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" and Nancy Sinatra's "You Only Live Twice" (sung by bassist Kid Tigrrr) and the rare track "The Aeroplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right)" from the period "Mellon Collie...". Melissa Auf der Maur, known for living in Montreal and previously dating Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, has returned to the stage after a long absence. It was a pleasant addition to the concert, which was full of music and memories of the legendary band.
