Johnny Marr and Franz Ferdinand: Inspiration and Revival

In light of recent events, attention was drawn to Johnny Marr, co-founder and great guitarist of The Smiths. On Sunday, Marr joined other former members of The The to perform at the one-day post-punk festival Forever Now, and today it was revealed the release of a double single by Scottish band Franz Ferdinand, including updated versions of songs from the album "The Human Fear". Among them are the track "Hooked", recorded at a concert in Glasgow with the participation of the London musician Master Peace, and the studio version of the track "Build It Up", in which the guitar skills of Johnny Marr give the composition a special atmosphere. As Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Capranos admits, Marr is a source of inspiration: "When I was a teenager, I tried to understand his tunes sitting in my room."
