“The Adventures of the Hangover” in the “Helikon-Opera”: Return to Stravinsky’s masterpieces

In the “Helikon-Opera” from 9 to 13 July 2025 will be the premiere screening of the opera by Igor Stravinsky “The Adventures of the Hangover” staged by Dmitry Bertman. This is a return to the origins of the theater, because it was Stravinsky’s Moor, which first sounded on the modest stage of Helikon 35 years ago, that began its history.
The production of “The Adventures of the Hangover”, first released in 1978 at the Chamber Theater at the Sokol, was created by the genius of Boris Pokrovsky, Gennady Rozhdestvensky and Joseph Sumbatashvili. Natalia Rozhdestvenskaya, Gennady’s mother, translated the libretto from English. This translation will be used in Bertman's production.
Dmitri Bertman will turn this operatic parable into a gripping tale of losing oneself in the pursuit of illusory happiness and the destructive power of vice.
