"Lived and Was I": a documentary about the life and work of David Tukhmanov

In 2025, the First Channel will show a documentary film “I Once Lived”, dedicated to the life and work of the legendary composer David Tukhmanov, in the year of his 85th anniversary. Despite the secrecy and avoidance of publicity, the composer, who created musical masterpieces that won the hearts of millions, will be presented to the audience in a new format.

Tukhmanov, known for his reclusive lifestyle, the author of such iconic works as “Victory Day” and the concept album “On the Wave of My Memory”, which squeezed the Beatles group in the hearts of Soviet youth, will show the audience the way he has done in the world of music. His work, including the grand opera Tsaritsa, became an important event in Russian culture.

The film will show interviews with other famous musicians, including Lev Leshchenko, Irina Allegrova, Larisa Dolina and others, as well as memories of working together and creative moments. In the finale, the First Channel will show a television version of the anniversary concert "Victory Day", which was held in the State Kremlin Palace and performed by such stars as Lev Leshchenko, Philip Kirkorov, Ekaterina Guseva and others. The hosts of the broadcast will be Yana Churikova and Alexander Oleshko. The air is scheduled for 17:00.
