Alexey Rybnikov: 80 years, Star Trek in Music

On the First channel on July 19, 2025 will be the premiere of a documentary film dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding composer Alexei Rybnikov, in the year of his 80th anniversary (July 17). The film will be a unique tribute to the man whose work swept through dozens of cult films ("The Munchausen", "You Never Dreamed ...", "The Adventures of Buratino" and many others) and whose symphonies are still heard in the best concert halls of the world.

Rybnikov is the only composer in the world who successfully combines these two types of art. Despite his success, he continues to amaze and inspire. On the eve of the anniversary, he is preparing the premiere of the theatrical and musical cycle “Ultima Sequence”.

The film will collect an unprecedented amount of materials: shooting from rehearsals and runs of his innovative projects, footage from the set of the new film “Buratino”, recordings in the legendary Studio “Mosfilm”, in the musical living room of the composer and even at his dacha. Special attention is paid to the creation of the "rock opera" "Juno and Avos", as well as unique archival materials about the creation of the "Liturgy of the Concealed" and its theater.

The film was attended by close people of the composer, including his wife Tatiana Rybnikov, son Dmitry, grandson Stepan, as well as famous cultural figures - Nikita Mikhalkov, Vladimir Spivakov, Maxim Dunaevsky and others. After the screening of the film, the First Channel will again show Alexei Rybinkov’s creative evening “Through Thorns to the Stars” with the participation of such stars as Valeria, Pelageya, Dmitry Malikov, Julia Savicheva and others.
