Ozzy Osbourne and the Chimpanzee: Charity Art Project Supporting Save the Chimps

Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne has teamed up with chimpanzees in an unusual charity project. The Black Sabbath leader created five vibrant, expressionist paintings, and his four-legged partners contributed by adding their own brushstrokes. The canvases will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to the Save the Chimps Foundation, a shelter in Florida that houses chimpanzees rescued from brutal labs, poorly managed zoos and the illegal animal trade. “I paint because it gives me peace of mind, but I don’t sell my paintings,” Ozzy said. His wife Sharon added, Chimpanzees are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, and I’m really proud that Ozzy supports them. Black Sabbath recently ended their career with a huge tribute festival in Birmingham, which brought together many legendary bands, including Metallica and Guns N’ Roses. This festival was the final chord in the career of Ozzy Osbourne, who due to Parkinson's disease can no longer perform on the big stage.
