Tchaikovsky. Walks in Moscow: A New Vision of History

The Museum of P.I. Tchaikovsky invites to the opening of the exhibition "Tchaikovsky". Walks in Moscow, timed to the 185th anniversary of the composer, July 17, 2025. The exposition dedicated to the key role of Moscow in the life and work of Pyotr Ilyich will tell about significant places – from the Moscow Conservatory and the Bolshoi Theatre to the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior – where the composer drew inspiration for his masterpieces.

In the exhibition, organized jointly with contemporary Moscow artists (Maria Shcherbina, Igor Mashkov, Alexander Matryoshin, etc.), visitors will be able to make an imaginary journey through the streets of Moscow, imagining how the great composer walked through them, and where the premieres of his works took place. Special attention is paid to rare materials from the collections of the Russian National Museum of Music: the author’s manuscript “The Solemn Overture “1812”, the lifetime edition of music for the “Snow Maiden” by A.N. Ostrovsky, archival photo of the first performance of Eugene Onegin.

The exhibition is accompanied by a video tour, offering a virtual acquaintance with the historical places of the capital. It will be open to the public from July 17 to November 10, 2025.
