Legendary Ozzy Osbourne: Farewell Tour and Legacy

On July 5, 2025, the world lost its dominator, the legendary musician Ozzy Osbourne, who died at the age of 76 in his hometown of Birmingham. His death was reported by his family, and the news caused widespread shock and sorrow.

Ozzy Osbourne, whose career began in the late 1960s with Black Sabbath, became one of the most influential figures in heavy metal history. Together with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, he created apocalyptic lyrics and powerful riffs that formed the basis of such iconic albums as Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Despite the group's breakup due to drug abuse and poor management, Osborne did not give up.

After a long string of setbacks, he regained popularity in the 1980s, thanks to his eccentric antics, such as biting a live pigeon and trying to bite off a bat's head, as well as a successful duet with Lita Ford. His relationship with Black Sabbath changed constantly, but in 1985 and 1992 the band performed on the famous Live Aid.

In the 1990s, Ozzy overcame his addiction to alcohol and drugs, which allowed him to reunite with Black Sabbath and found the traveling festival Ozzfest, where the best metal bands performed. In 1997, Black Sabbath was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Unpredictable fate led him to popularity thanks to the reality show “The Osbourne Family”, and in 2009 he published his autobiography “I am Ozzy”. Before his death, he was preparing to publish the third volume of his memoir, The Last Rites, which was to be published on October 7, 2025.

Despite illness and pandemic, Ozzy Osbourne continued to create, releasing the album "Ordinary Man" in 2020, which was attended by famous musicians such as Elton John and Slash. His last concert was on July 5, 2025, during his farewell tour, Back to the Beginning. The film-concert of this concert, scheduled for screening in 2026, was the final chord in the career of the legendary musician.
