William Basinski to Release Extended Edition of The Disintegration Loops

William Basinski, recognized master of ambient, announces the re-release of his cult album "The Disintegration Loops", created under the influence of the tragic events of September 11. The new version, titled "The Disintegration Loops (Arcadia Archive Edition)", will be released on November 7 via Temporary Residence Ltd. The album is an 8LP or 4CD edition, retaining the original design and incorporating a new essay from Laurie Anderson. It is important to note that the price of the new edition will be much lower than the previous one, which reached hundreds and thousands of dollars on Discogs. "The Disintegration Loops" was completed by Basinski on September 11, 2001, using recordings of decaying analogue films dating back to the 1980s. The album cover, consisting of a photograph of the New York sky after the terrorist attacks, became a symbol of the work. The album has already been recognized as a modern classic, ranking third in the Pitchfork ranking.
