Cords about fear, mate and "record" - an exclusive excerpt of the interview

In an exclusive interview with Gazetametro.ru, Sergey Shnurov shared his thoughts on a variety of topics – from stage fear to the role of mat in Russian culture.

During the preparation for the festival “Ours in the city”, Cords answered journalists’ questions, expressing their unexpected and sometimes provocative opinions. For example, he admitted that he does not feel afraid to go on stage, answering the question, “Are there any f***?”. He also shared his view of cinema, saying that "cinema ended in the twentieth century."

In the interview, the musician also spoke about his huge tour, about how he draws inspiration (in particular, based on the works of Mayakovsky), and about his attitude to attempts to ban swear words, calling them “the most stupid thing, probably, that you can do.”

In addition, Shnurov mentioned his "tax declaration" as a measure of success, and noted that the new release of songs "they will come out regardless of whether you expect them or not."
