"M": film concert Depeche Mode will conquer peaceful cinemas

The screens will release a grandiose film concert Depeche Mode called “M”, which starts in October 2025. The project, which brings the band together with Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision, has already won recognition at the Tribeca festival. It will be presented in more than 2,500 cinemas worldwide.

Directed by Mexican director Fernando Frias (known for "I'm Not Here Anymore" and "Our Flag Means Death"), the film is a collection of footage from three sold-out Depeche Mode concerts at Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City, held as part of the "Memento Mori" tour (2023 and 2024). Dave Gahan emphasizes that "M" is a deep exploration of the interrelationship of music, culture and audience, realized by the director through the prism of Mexican culture.

Depeche Mode concerts in Mexico City were attended by almost 200,000 spectators. The "Memento Mori" tour, dedicated to the band's 15th studio album, was initiated following the death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher, who passed away in May 2022 at the age of 60. Between 2023 and 2024, the band played 112 concerts, gathering more than 3 million fans worldwide.
