Outstanding Belarusian and Russian singer Yaroslav Evdokimov has passed away

At the age of 78, the People’s Artist of Belarus and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Yaroslav Evdokimov died. His death was reported by his wife, Irina. The cause of death was lung cancer.

Yaroslav Evdokimov, born on November 22, 1946 in Rivne, spent his early years in the village of Koryst and then in Norilsk, where his mother, released from the camp, raised him. In 1955, he graduated from the music school and then the Norilsk College of Music, where he began his vocal career.

In 1975, Evdokimov got a job as a soloist-vocalist at the Minsk Philharmonic, while studying at the Minsk Music School named after M. Glinky. He performed with the ensemble of songs and dances of the Belarusian Military District and was a soloist of the State Teleradio of Belarus. His well-known songs include Field of Memory, May Waltz, Enchanted Mine and, of course, Fantazer.

In 1987, Yaroslav Evdokimov was awarded the title of "People's Artist of the Belarusian SSR". In 1996, while working in Mosestrad in Moscow, he was awarded the title of “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”. Yaroslav Evdokimov left a significant mark in the Belarusian and Russian music scene, leaving behind a rich repertoire and the memory of the talented singer.
