Concert in the House of Music: New discoveries in the music of Eduard Artemyev

On October 18, 2025, a unique concert dedicated to the music of Eduard Artemyev will be held at the House of Music. A program called "New Readings." “Discoveries and Premieres” is a combination of familiar masterpieces and works that will be heard for the first time in Moscow.

Artistic director of the concert, the son of Eduard Artemyev, Artemy Artemyev, notes that there is still much unknown in the work of the master. The program includes later works such as “Paris Meetings” from Vasiliev’s “Hero”, “March of Fools” from Konchalovsky’s “House of Fools”, and “Disease” from Proshkin’s “Atonement”. Artemy Artemiyev, keen on preserving his father’s legacy, carefully adapted the scores for orchestra and soloists. Of particular interest is the suite "Old Dances", which he completed only this year, based on documented developments and notes by Eduard Nikolaevich.

In addition to new works, the concert will feature Artemyev’s most famous compositions – themes from “His Among Strangers, Strangers Among His Own,” “Slaves of Love” and “12” by Nikita Mikhalkov. Vocal parts will be performed by the composer’s granddaughter, singer Ekaterina Artemyeva. This concert is an opportunity to discover new facets of the talent of Eduard Artemyev and his colleagues.
