Maria Pravda reimagined “Look into the eyes”: Nostalgia, irony and tenderness

Singer Maria Pravda presented a new version of the cult song by Natalia Vetlitskaya “Look into the eyes”. As a child, watching the clip, she was fascinated by the stylish and glamorous Vetlitskaya of the 90s, and this impression is forever imprinted in her memory. Over the years, growing up, Maria saw in the song not only resentment, but also irony, humor and soft “female look”. In creating the new version, she sought to remove the drama and add tenderness to convey this new perspective. The song’s author Andrey Zuev supported this interpretation, noting that Maria found “where I would sing with tears, she made softer, lighter, and added games.”

The new version has become a bridge between childhood memories and current perceptions, taking the listener back to the 90s, which Maria believes is a general nostalgia. Maria Pravda will perform at the Magnus Locus Club on November 11, 2025.
